The Global HoN Challenge is over. Despite MM outages it seems that everything went “just fine”. By their count there were 1,565,587 games played!
Awards (Kongor Taunt, Kongor Courier and Electrician + Avatar) will be distributed on May 15.

Prizes for the community playing as many matches as possible, prizes for playing the new map, 4X Silver Coins Weekend and some other stuff. Too bad all this is celebrated in true S2 style: Failed patch, Match Making not working, and when it worked stats were not recording.

RANT
“After some thought and discussion, we looked to our existing 3v3 map, Grimm’s Crossing, for our answer: the One-Way Teleporter”
This statement by S2 prompted our response. Not only S2 publishes NONE! of the custom maps the community created (including a long present mid wars map), but they also engage in stealing ideas from these maps later to pass them as their own. How can you take credit for one way out of the base teleporters and advertise them as your shiny recently thought feature, when they are STOLEN from our map published on your Dream site and reviewed on your forums 1 and a half years ago?

Independent to the above rant, here some critiques regarding the new map and its making and advertising process.
First of all we get a new map and almost everyone is excited. Except for Caldavar the rest of the official S2 maps remain largely un-played and this one seems to promises to be a map that will actually see some action. And that in spite of the dull taste the video preview of the map left us with.
To say the least, it looks like their cleaning lady did most of the job. Any map maker could have done that map in 1 Day of work, and tested it in at most 1 week. Yet we have 4 weeks of Mid Wars developers blog presenting the countless “fresh” features the map has. So lets look at some of theese “failures”. read more…
The HoN-iversary is upon us and there’s tons of stuff going on in Newerth! We’re so excited that HoN is turning two and we hope that you’re excited too. Why wouldn’t you be!? Check out what’s happening this week.
First of all, you guys are AMAZING! We were overwhelmed with all the submissions that we got. There was so many quality entries that it was incredibly difficult for us to choose the winners but we’ve finally settled on our winners. There was one Grand Prize winner and four Runner-ups for each category: Video, Art, Short Fiction, Music and Cosplay . Here’s the prize breakdown:
